New FAFSA 2024 is Available: Apply Now

2024 FAFSA applications are now open and FAFSA application form is soft launched after a much delay on December 30, 2023. as it is soft launched, the application will be open for specific times, and you may find it difficult to apply to. But you need not to worry, as during the soft launch, the department of education is monitoring the performance and efficiency of their online system and the form will soon be available for full time.

During the soft launch period, more than 30,000 forms were successfully submitted. FAFSA form was open on December 30 for 30-min duration, on December 31 for 30 minutes and for two hours on January 01.

The form is expected to be available for short periods of time during the coming days.

Still, the Department of Education has said that families do not need to rush to immediately submit the FAFSA this year.

Even if a student submits the FAFSA now, the applicant will not receive the FAFSA Submission Summary (formerly known as the Student Aid Report) until late January. The report tells students how much federal student aid they areeligible for. An applicant will likely have to wait longer to hear from colleges about how much aid the school may provide.

When Is the FAFSA Deadline?

The deadline for 2023-24 FAFSA application is June 30, 2024. However, you are advised to file as early as possible. You must submit the form at the earliest possible time to meet state and college financial aid deadlines and to get your aid in time for the start of the school year.

You only have to file the FAFSA once to be eligible for all three types of aid.

You can submit the FAFSA is available online at StudentAid.gov. please note that during the soft launch period, you may experience waiting and will only be allowed to fill up the form during certain hours. Keep track of time and submit the application accordingly.

If you are unable to complete the form during the given time, you will be able to fill up the remaining details on the next window when the system is online. It is not required to fill up the form in one go. The student is required to fill up the FAFSA form, however, in case of dependents, parents may also fill the FAFSA form using their FSA ID.
