Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC) Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

NLTCC is open-admission at the institutional level, but its own materials state plainly that "admission to the college does not guarantee enrollment in courses for a particular program." Practical Nursing specifically requires a separate Pre-Admission Practical Nursing Application Packet Checklist submitted after you've already been admitted to the college and completed pre-nursing requirements - treat general admission as step one of two, not the finish line, especially for Spring-semester PN cohorts.

NLTCC will only apply transfer credit toward prerequisites if you earned a "C" or better in the original course - a B- or lower simply won't count, even if the receiving program would otherwise accept it. If you're transferring in from another college specifically to satisfy a pre-nursing or technical prerequisite, check your actual letter grade (not just "did I pass") before assuming that credit will transfer.

NLTCC operates as one accredited institution across three physical campuses, but specific programs (like Practical Nursing) run at specific sites with their own cohort sizes and entry terms. Before applying, confirm which of the three campuses actually offers your target program in the term you want - applying broadly to "NLTCC" without specifying the right campus can mean missing the actual application window for your program.

NLTCC is currently a candidate for accreditation by SACSCOC (the regional accreditor that most four-year colleges require for transfer credit) to award associate degrees, while its programs are separately accredited by the Council on Occupational Education. If your long-term plan involves transferring an NLTCC associate degree into a four-year university, confirm with that university's registrar how they'll treat credit from a SACSCOC candidate (not yet fully accredited) institution - this can affect transferability in ways a "regionally accredited" label would not.
