OCTC's ADN admission requires meeting only ONE of two criteria: an ACT composite of 20 or above (superscores not accepted, must include the Science section) OR a TEAS composite of 58.7% or higher - plus a separate 2.75 Nursing GPA floor calculated specifically on required general-education courses (ENG 101, MAT 150, Heritage/Humanities, PSY 110, BIO 137, BIO 139, BIO 225). If your ACT score from high school already clears 20 with a completed Science section, you may not need to take the TEAS at all - confirm this with the Nursing Department before investing time and money in TEAS preparation you might not need.

OCTC explicitly states "extra points may be awarded to applicants demonstrating proof of a prior Allied Health Degree involving direct patient care AND actively employed in that field" - a specific, dual-condition bonus (degree AND active employment) rather than credit for either alone. If you hold an Allied Health credential, make sure your application documents both the degree itself and current employment verification, since the bonus points require proof of both conditions simultaneously, not just one.

OCTC requires BIO 137, MAT 150 (or higher), and PSY 110 to be completed within 5 years of the first nursing course (NSG 101) - a deadline anchored to your actual program start, not to when you submit your application. Calculate this window based on your realistic first-nursing-course date (which could be a semester or more after acceptance), not your application submission date, to avoid a science course unexpectedly aging out before you actually begin nursing coursework.

OCTC states that applicants previously admitted to another nursing program who earned two unsuccessful attempts (D or below, or withdrawal) are ineligible for transfer admission generally - but separately notes that applicants transferring from another college who want entry into NSG 101 (or its equivalent) specifically may still be eligible. If your nursing history elsewhere includes a failing grade, ask OCTC's Nursing Department directly whether starting fresh at the NSG 101 entry point remains open to you, since this appears to be treated differently than a full program transfer.
