The Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES) accumulates annually throughout high school based on your GPA, so it's locked in by the time you enroll. The Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship, by contrast, only activates after you've been formally admitted into an eligible selective-admissions or technical program - it does not cover prerequisite coursework taken before that acceptance. Budget your pre-admission prerequisite semesters using KEES and other aid, and plan for Work Ready to close the gap only once you're inside the program itself.

The Jefferson Scholarship application has two components - the KCTCS General Application and the Jefferson Conditional Application - and only ONE combined submission matches you to every scholarship you're eligible for. JCTC only accepts Kentucky GED scores with a Reading Test Level Achieved (RTLA) of 165 or higher, and the scores must have been received within the last 4 years for the reading requirement. If your GED is older or your RTLA falls short, you'll need additional placement testing before admission can be finalized - check this now rather than discovering it during enrollment processing.
