Alpena Community College Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

ACC hosts the Madeline Briggs University Center on its main campus, through which students can pursue bachelor's degrees from partner universities (including Northwood University on-site, plus articulation agreements with Western Michigan University for Social Work, University of Michigan-Flint for a BSN, and Madonna University for a BSW) without relocating. Ask specifically which bachelor's programs are deliverable fully on-site versus which eventually require transfer, since this varies by partner university and major.

Students without an SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of 451+ and Math score of 500+ (or without 12+ prior college credits including a college-level English or math course) must sit for ACCUPLACER placement testing before registering for more than one course. A student with qualifying SAT scores should submit them proactively rather than assuming placement testing is required regardless.

ACC criminal justice students can enroll in Delta College's Basic Police Training Academy and transfer credits back into ACC's own Associate in Applied Science in Law Enforcement - but trainees must separately pass the MCOLES Physical Fitness Exit Test to graduate from the academy itself, a distinct gate from ACC's own coursework requirements.

ACC participates in the MTA, meaning a student who completes at least 30 credits with a 2.0+ in each has assurance that general education requirements transfer to any other participating Michigan college. Structure those first 30 credits around MTA-eligible coursework with an advisor rather than assuming any 30 credits automatically qualify.
