Great Falls College Montana State University (GFC MSU) Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

Being admitted to Great Falls College does not get you into the 25-seat Registered Nurse program - that requires its own application packet (available starting February each year, priority deadline May 30) and applicants are ranked primarily by prerequisite GPA. If any prerequisite grade is below a B, retake it early: since science prerequisites must be completed within 5 years of applying and other prerequisites within 15 years, sequencing matters as much as the grade itself.

GFC MSU's RN program is still a candidate for ACEN national accreditation (effective August 2025) rather than fully accredited, though this does not block NCLEX eligibility or licensure. Graduates are specifically recruited into BSN completion programs at MSU Northern and MSU Billings - if a bachelor's is your end goal, get written confirmation from your target four-year nursing program that they'll accept a GFC MSU ASN before you invest two years in the associate program.

Any student taking 7 or more credits, or enrolled in a certificate, degree, or transfer program, must provide proof of two measles and two rubella vaccinations (or titer results) under Administrative Rules of Montana - gather this documentation before you apply for admission, since it's a registration hold that has nothing to do with your academic file but can delay your start date just as effectively as an incomplete application.

If you were previously enrolled in, withdrew from, or failed out of any nursing program, GFC MSU explicitly requires a written, detailed explanation of the circumstances plus a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or director at that prior program before your application will even be considered in the competitive entry process - track down that letter early, since it's often the slowest piece to obtain.
