Isothermal Community College (ICC Isothermal) Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

ICC's 40-point Nursing Applicant Points Ranking Tool awards points for holding any prior diploma or degree, regardless of subject: 1 point for a college diploma, 2 for an associate degree, 3 for a bachelor's, 4 for a master's or higher. A career-changer with an unrelated four-year degree starts ahead of a same-GPA recent high school graduate on this axis alone. Submit official transcripts of that prior credential with the nursing packet - it's an automatic boost unrelated to science grades or test scores.

The points tool gives only 1 point for completing 7 of 9 required ADN courses (3 of 5 for PN) but jumps to 4 points for finishing 100% before applying - a full swing many applicants leave on the table by stopping at the bare minimum. Build a plan that clears every course on ICC's recommended list, including BIO 275/175 Microbiology and the humanities elective, before the March deadline.

ICC explicitly breaks ranking ties first by TEAS composite score, then by GPA. In a program capped at roughly 45 ADN and 35 PN seats with no waiting list, a borderline TEAS score can lose a tiebreak outright. Applicants near a score boundary (just under 84.5% or 94.5%) should consider a retake before the deadline - crossing into the next bracket helps twice: on the raw point count and on any tiebreak.

ICC's nursing packet cannot be mailed or uploaded - it must be submitted in person by scheduled appointment at the Rutherford campus Health and Sciences Building. Applicants who wait until the deadline week to email nursingprograms@isothermal.edu often can't get an appointment in time. Schedule from your student email at least three to four weeks out, treating the appointment as a hard sub-deadline separate from the paperwork.
