Wilkes Community College Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

WCC's Associate Degree Nursing program runs two separate cohorts, one based at the Wilkes campus and one at the Ashe campus, and each applicant must choose one on their application - not both. You're ranked and selected only against other applicants for that same cohort, and you cannot change campus cohorts after admission. Decide based on which clinical rotation sites and commute actually work for you long-term, since this choice is effectively permanent once you're admitted.

Before your nursing application is even considered, you must complete an online information session that ends in a quiz requiring a perfect 10/10 score to pass; if you don't pass, you review the material and retake it. This session must be completed by a specific December deadline (after you've already submitted your application) - treat the quiz as a real requirement to study for, not a click-through formality, since an incomplete or unpassed session means you get no credit for it at all.

Wilkes's ADN program requires evidence of current listing as a Certified Nurse Aide I in North Carolina with no substantiated findings of resident abuse, neglect, or misappropriation - but this is due after you're accepted, with a mid-year deadline the following year. Since CNA certification itself takes weeks to complete, start this process as soon as you apply rather than waiting for your acceptance letter, so you're not scrambling to meet the compliance deadline.

WCC allows students to apply to two limited-admission programs (ADN, Dental Assisting, EMS, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, RIBN) in the same academic year. If you're genuinely torn between two health tracks, or want a backup if your first choice is competitive, apply to both within the same cycle rather than waiting a full year to try your second option after being denied from your first.
