United Tribes Technical College Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

UTTC offers a Native American Tuition Waiver that allows full-time, degree-seeking members of federally recognized American Indian tribes to attend tuition-free - a foundational financial fact that should shape enrollment planning from day one, not something discovered mid-application. Eligible students should gather tribal enrollment documentation early and confirm waiver status with financial aid before building any other funding plan, since this waiver can eliminate the need for loans entirely for qualifying students.

UTTC became the first Tribal College in the nation accredited to offer online Associate of Applied Science degree programs (2003), and currently offers fully-online Criminal Justice and General Studies tracks. A student balancing family, work, or geographic isolation from campus should specifically ask how long each online AAS track has been continuously accredited and what on-campus components (if any) remain required, since this online track record is more established here than at many newer tribal colleges attempting online expansion.

UTTC operates Theodore Jamerson Elementary School on campus (through a BIA contract) and the Lewis Goodhouse Wellness Center, which provides integrated physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual care including a Chemical Health Center and Psychological Services - genuinely distinctive wraparound infrastructure for a two-year technical college. A prospective student who is also a parent should ask admissions specifically about on-campus K-12 enrollment logistics and bus transportation timing as part of their own enrollment planning, since these are integrated campus resources, not separate arrangements a student has to find elsewhere.

UTTC accepts ACCUPLACER, ACT, or SAT (the latter two only if dated within the last five years) for academic placement - meaning an old test score won't help and a fresh ACCUPLACER result directly determines whether a student starts in credit-bearing or developmental coursework. A student without a recent ACT/SAT should schedule the ACCUPLACER (available in-person or virtually with a UTTC proctor) with enough lead time to allow a retake if the first placement result would land them in developmental courses they could avoid with light review beforehand.
