BCCC's Nursing Program ranks applicants by summing three scored categories: TEAS placement (Exemplary=4, Advanced=3, Proficient=2, Basic=1, Developmental=0), overall GPA at time of admission (4.00=4 points down to below 2.5=0), and GPA specifically in BIO 202/203/212 (same 0-4 scale) - for a maximum of 12 points. Before applying, calculate your own likely score across all three categories using BCCC's published scale, and if your BIO GPA is your weak point, consider retaking one of the three courses (permitted once within 5 years) before submitting, since this is the only one of the three factors you can still improve pre-application.

BCCC requires the TEAS to be completed "within one (1) year of starting the nursing program" - a distinction from many peer programs that measure validity from the application or test date. Back-calculate from your intended program start date (not your application deadline) to determine your latest safe TEAS testing window, since testing too early risks the score expiring before you'd actually begin coursework.

BCCC's own nursing admission documentation states in capital letters: "YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE PROCESSED IF YOU APPLY TO BOTH PROGRAMS." If you're unsure which track (Associate Degree Nursing vs. Practical Nursing Certificate) fits your timeline and goals, resolve that decision with an advisor before submitting anything, since applying to both isn't a hedge - it's a disqualifying error.

BCCC's selection process states that in the event of a tie in selection points, "students who have been previously qualified and not accepted will receive priority if the student reapplies." If you fall just short of a seat in one cycle, reapply for the very next cycle rather than waiting multiple semesters or switching programs, since this tie-break rule specifically rewards immediate reapplication.
