Five Towns College requires a personal statement of at least 150 but no more than 300 words for all undergraduate applicants. This narrow word count range - significantly shorter than the Common App personal statement - functions more like a professional statement of purpose than a traditional college essay. Applicants to FTC's Music Performance, Music Education, and Theatre Arts programs must successfully complete a competitive audition as part of the admission process. In-person auditions are preferred; virtual or pre-recorded auditions are permitted only in limited circumstances and require specific permission from the Chair of Music or Theatre. Music Education and Court Reporting applicants additionally require a faculty interview. Audition scheduling is handled through the admissions office (631-656-2110). Because FTC holds rolling admissions and program-specific cohort seats are limited, students who delay their audition scheduling risk having available spots fill before their file is complete.
