Orangeburg Calhoun Technical College (OCtech) Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

OCtech offers a distinct Guaranteed ADN Admission pathway: if you hold an LPN license, MA, CNA, or PCT certificate (or a certificate of completion from an accredited program), meet the reading/math score thresholds, complete all required general education courses at OCtech with a 3.0+ GPA, and earn a "B" or higher specifically in BIO 210, 211, and 225, admission is guaranteed rather than competitively scored. This is a genuinely rare, non-competitive path - if you hold any of these credentials, structure your entire gen-ed sequence around meeting these exact thresholds rather than applying through the standard competitive point system.

OCtech explicitly states that persons convicted of or pleading no contest to offenses including child or adult abuse, sexual assault, assault with a deadly weapon, neglect, or misappropriation of property are not permitted to work as direct caregivers - and individual clinical agencies often enforce even more stringent requirements. If you have any relevant history, contact the Dean of Nursing before enrolling in prerequisite coursework, since this can bar clinical placement entirely regardless of academic performance.
