CCBS is located approximately 2 miles from Fort Liberty (formerly Fort Bragg), the largest military installation in the U.S. by population. The school accepts military Tuition Assistance (TA), Post-9/11 GI Bill, Montgomery GI Bill, and MyCAA for military spouses. Critically, the once-weekly class meeting schedule - designed so students can complete up to four courses in a single day - was built specifically for people with military duty schedules, church leadership responsibilities, and full-time employment. TA approval requires your unit's chain-of-command and the Ed Center to process paperwork before your semester starts. Missing this step by one week delays enrollment a full semester.

CCBS classes meet once per week, and the school's scheduling system is explicitly designed to allow students to take multiple courses in a single visit to campus. This is not an incidental convenience - it is how the institution was built, to serve working adults, bivocational pastors, and military personnel who cannot commute multiple days per week. When you register each semester, map your course selections to a single-day block schedule from the outset. Students who distribute courses across two or three days lose the core advantage that makes full-time enrollment at CCBS workable while holding outside employment. With disciplined scheduling, associate degree completion in 18-24 months and bachelor's in 3 years are realistic timelines for working adults.

Graduate admission requires a minimum 3.0 GPA, bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, a clear testimony of Christian salvation, and a recommendation from your local church. That church letter is the most differentiating element in graduate review - CCBS does not use GRE or GMAT scores, so the church recommendation and your personal testimony carry the weight that standardized tests would carry elsewhere. Letters from lay members or general character references that don't speak to your calling, theological formation, and ministry involvement are the most common reason otherwise eligible graduate applicants get deferred. The letter must come from your senior pastor, lead elder, or direct ministry supervisor who can substantively address your fitness for graduate-level ministry formation.

ABHE approved a new CCBS extension site at 6330 Newtown Road, Suite 211, Norfolk, VA 23502 on June 16, 2025 for a teach-out of students from another institution. CCBS's website announced Hampton Roads classes beginning Fall 2026. If you are in the Virginia Beach, Norfolk, or Chesapeake area, contact CCBS directly before applying to confirm which programs are being offered at this site, whether it is permanent or teach-out-only, the specific weekly schedule and course availability, and whether TA and VA benefits apply at this location. Extension sites may have narrower program offerings than the Fayetteville main campus, and the site's structure may evolve during its first operational year.
