Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

SRJC for Free covers $600/semester (12-14.9 units) or $850/semester (15+ units) for first-time AND now second-time students who file FAFSA/CADAA, are CA residents or AB540, and maintain a 2.0 GPA with 50%+ completion. Layer the Doyle Scholarship on top - it requires completing Counseling 270 (or the online orientation) the spring before enrolling. Do both and tuition can be fully covered for two years; skip Counseling 270 and you forfeit Doyle eligibility even if SRJC for Free still applies.

SRJC's enrollment priority is locked in BEFORE you can register: you must complete Orientation (in-person or the online counseling orientation) AND have a Counselor-built Education Plan on file. Students who skip this step are pushed behind military/veteran, foster youth, CalWORKs, and DSPS students in registration order - meaning the popular sections are gone before your time ticket opens. Do orientation and the ed plan in your first weeks, not after add/drop problems start.

SRJC has no standardized placement test for English/math - it uses Guided Self-Placement (GSP), a confidence-based self-assessment unlocked automatically inside your Admission Account after your application processes. Complete GSP honestly and promptly, then book a follow-up with a counselor or advisor before registering: students who skip the advisor conversation often self-place too conservatively and waste a semester in a course below their actual readiness.

Continuing students lose registration priority once they exceed 99.9 cumulative units (excluding basic English/Math/ESL). If you're a transfer-bound student layering AA-Ts, certificates, or major changes, track your unit count every semester - switching programs late or repeating courses can push you over the line and demote your registration priority right when you need specific transfer-prep sections.
