East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

When submitting the general EMCC application, prospective nursing students must select "nursing" as their major and should explicitly not designate "RN" or "Practical Nursing" specifically - this is a literal instruction from EMCC's own nursing packet. General EMCC admission and the separate School of Nursing Application are two distinct steps regardless of how the major is labeled.

A student who leaves the nursing program, for any reason, must submit a written readmission request to the Director of Nursing and Allied Health within one month of leaving. Missing that narrow window forecloses the readmission pathway - treat this request as an immediate priority, not something to handle once other circumstances settle.

EMCC's tuition assistance program is specifically available to new students who both reside in and graduated from a high school in one of seven named counties: Clay, Kemper, Lauderdale, Lowndes, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, and Calhoun. Check both conditions against this specific list rather than assuming general district residency alone qualifies you.

Health forms, immunization records, lab results, and CPR proof for pending nursing admits must be submitted as one complete package by December 1 for spring admission - EMCC explicitly returns incomplete packages to the student rather than holding them for follow-up. Assemble every required document before the deadline and submit them together.
