Riverside City College Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

RCC's nursing CEP is a genuinely distinctive, award-winning partnership (recognized by the Association of California Nurse Leaders) that lets ADN students simultaneously enroll at CSU Fullerton or CSU San Bernardino, finishing with both an ADN and, two semesters later, a BSN in as little as six total semesters - compressing what's historically an 8-year community-college-to-BSN pathway into about 4 years. CEP applicants need a 2.75+ GPA (higher than the standard ADN track's eligibility bar) in both nursing-preadmission coursework and overall, plus all CSU general-education categories already completed before applying - a student should map this stricter GPA and GE-completion bar early rather than discovering it only at CEP application time.

All ADN and CEP applicants must pass the ATI TEAS 7 exam, and RCC explicitly recommends completing the entire Anatomy & Physiology sequence at one institution - students who split A&P across two colleges must separately request an equivalency/substitution approval from Counseling or Evaluations, an extra administrative step that can delay an application if not started early. A student transferring in with partial A&P credit from elsewhere should resolve this approval question a full semester before the application filing period, not during it.

RCC's Honors program carries certified transfer agreements with an unusually broad set of institutions - not just UC Irvine, but also San Diego State, Cal State Fullerton's Honors Program, University of Arizona, Chapman, Gonzaga, Occidental, Pitzer, Pomona, and Mills College (which is all-female at the undergraduate level) - each with its own certification deadline (UCI's falls at the end of fall finals week in December; all others run to January 31 after fall grades post). A student with a private-college or out-of-state target should specifically ask whether that school is on RCC's certified partner list, since the benefit doesn't automatically extend to schools outside this named group.

RCC nursing applications open and close within set filing periods (e.g., spring semester opens the first business day of June and closes the first business day of July) and notification of acceptance, alternate, or denial status doesn't arrive until 4-6 months after the filing period ends. A student should plan around this multi-month gap explicitly - including making contingency academic plans for the wait - rather than assuming a quick turnaround the way general college admission typically works.
