Penn State Mont Alto stopped accepting new degree-seeking students and transfer students after Fall 2025. The campus will close permanently after Spring 2027. Penn State has specifically committed that first- and second-year BSN nursing students currently enrolled at Mont Alto will be able to complete their third and fourth years of nursing education at or near their current location through the 2026-27 academic year. Nursing faculty will continue teaching the relevant curriculum at a local area facility (the specific location is still to be announced), and established clinical placements for the Mont Alto nursing cohort will remain active. Student support services including library access, tutoring, and writing support will be provided virtually through the Nese College of Nursing.
