Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics (PIA Career Services) Acceptance Rate, GPA, and Admission Requirements

PIA requires every applicant to complete a personal interview and facility tour with a qualified Admissions Representative before beginning classes - covering program fit, admission policies, and graduate placement statistics. Because PIA's entire program is built around FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certification eligibility, applicants must independently meet FAA's own criteria - at least 18 years old by the time of certification testing, and able to speak, read, write, and understand English - separate from PIA's own enrollment requirements. PIA's Aviation Electronics Technology (AET) associate program - leading to NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician certification - is available exclusively at the Pittsburgh campus, not at PIA's other locations in Maryland, South Carolina, or Ohio. A student targeting the broader mechanical-plus-electronic skill combination (which PIA notes employers often prioritize for first consideration) should confirm they are applying to the Pittsburgh location specifically, since transferring into AET from another PIA campus isn't a given.
