El Camino's Honors Transfer Program (HTP) feeds two distinct, named university partnerships: UCLA's Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) and UC Irvine's Honors to Honors (H2H), each requiring a separate "Intent to Transfer Form" with its own deadline (UC Irvine's falls in early December, ahead of UCLA's mid-December deadline). A student should declare which pathway (or both) they're pursuing well before senior fall, since each university's certification workshops, GPA thresholds, and paperwork run on separate tracks within the same HTP enrollment.

For impacted UCLA majors, El Camino requires a 3.4+ overall GPA and 3.0+ in major prep to be TAP certified; students between 3.2 and 3.4 GPA are required to declare an alternate (non-impacted) major and meet with a transfer counselor, or the counseling office will not TAP-certify them at all. Once declared, that primary/alternate major pairing on the UC application generally cannot be changed later, so this decision has to be made deliberately with a counselor before the application opens, not adjusted after the fact if the student's GPA shifts.

El Camino's Associate Degree Nursing program requires a separate eligibility-verification step before a student can even receive the program application, followed by a strict points-based ranking across categories like prior healthcare credentials (up to 15 points) and GPA in relevant coursework (up to 50 points) - with a hard application deadline (e.g., March 20 for a recent fall cycle) and roughly 40 spots available per admitted cohort. A student should start logging healthcare-related work/volunteer hours and certificates as early as possible, since these directly translate into points in a formula that's published and checkable, not a vague holistic impression.

Since February 2024, CCCApply (the application El Camino shares with the rest of the California Community College system) requires ID.me identity verification as part of a statewide effort to prevent fraudulent enrollment from taking real seats - and this verification status needs to be active before a student can register for classes, not just to submit the initial application. A student without standard identity documentation should be flagged early to use ID.me's alternative verification paths rather than discovering a registration block during the priority window.
